Name That Plant!

Hey guys, is this just parsley?  It smells SO delicious, is so supple, green, I can't believe it might just be really fresh and amazing parsley.  It's growing on the side of my house (planted by the former owners, this is only our second spring in our house).  The leaves smell like parsley, but are super floral and delicious with a cumin note (it's not cilantro, at least I don't think it is) and the stems resemble celery with celery scent.

I want to eat it asap!

Hope everyone is having a great weekend and someone can help me out with this little problem.

  1. It almost looks like cilantro and parsley mixed. Strange. I'm sorry I'm no actual help. Haha.

  2. It looks and sounds like celery. Celery is a biennial, so that would explain why it came back.

  3. Thanks, guys! Taylor, can or should I use it now? Should I wait and see what happens with it? It really looks and smells so delicious!

  4. It's Lovage. Like a herb version of celery but way easier to grow. It's a perennial so it will come back year after year. You can use it to flavour soups or stews - it tastes like celery. You're cool to eat some now if you like - once established it's pretty hardy.

  5. Thanks, Stacey!! It smells so strongly of celery I suspected it might be some kind of relative. Can you also eat the stems?
